Homes for Sale in Northeastern Minnesota
Homes in Northeastern Minnesota are as diverse in architectural style as the people who live in them. Many of the residential developments of the inland Iron Range towns are dotted with homes built in the early 1900’s when Oliver Mining and US Steel recruited immigrants and their families to work the mines. These homes are modest and practical, are great values, are smaller in size, and typically provide shelter at an attractive cost per finished square foot.
Homes built from 1950-1980 can be found predominantly in the larger towns of Virginia, Eveleth and Hibbing. This mid-century housing spurt was a direct result of growth and investment from communities in support of mining. The homes were built a little fancier, with more detail and to this day, offer more square footage and larger lot sizes than those of the turn of the century.
